OUR STORY
Utila Coral Foundation is born from a dream to actively restore the rapidly degrading coral reefs around Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras.
Since 2018, our efforts have been focused on preserving threatened coral populations through active restoration and coral gardening. Our foundation looks to the future now in scaling our efforts, launching a marine lab, implementing new techniques, and empowering our community.

OUR RESEARCH
Our research focuses on three main areas. We believe that marine conservation efforts should be localized on coral species, reef health, and community initiatives.
“Even if you never have the chance to see or touch the ocean, the ocean touches you with every breath you take, every drop of water you drink, every bite you consume. Everyone everywhere is inextricably connected to and utterly dependent upon the existence of the sea.”
